[DucatiST] The origin of the species

 

I was flicking through some old bike magazines tonight and in a copy of Bike from 1994 there was a half page about "Cagiva's new sports tourer, originally called the 944 but likely to be called the 900GT".

There are a couple of photos of a bike in Italian Police livery and a comment it won't be released to the public until 1996. The headlight and bars are recognisable but on the prototype you can't see the frame, it's all faired in. Not much doubt about what it is though. ☺

I'll try to scan it when I get a chance.
