Yes, I can believe that. We are, after all, talking of rubber teeth on a micro-resilient belt bedding into the metal teeth of the pulleys, and the angular position of both must depend on the elasticity of the rubber and the tension applied. However, I wonder if that is really relevant when the motor is spinning and the load of opening and closing the valves is seen by the system? What we need is dynamic valve-timing/belt-adjustment by stroboscope!
