It's not that difficult to do! I wanted a cowl for my Japanese-market SRX600 Yam, and knew I had to make it myself. I covered the back part of the seat with cling-film and built the profile up with modelling-clay, shaping and reshaping until I got the height I wanted and a profile that complemented the style of the bike, before laying-up with GFRP. Of course, finishing takes as much time again, and the fixings always need careful thought.
