The quality of the mic has NO effect whatsoever on the frequency, only
the amplitude!
The actual amplitude is irrelevant.
And the clock in the Ipod or any other such device is accurate to a
fraction of a percent (typically better than 0.01%), so the frequency
measured by any such device is better than 0.01 Hz.
