Jack, I debated on the 3's or 2's when I bought the 2's. Bought them because the center harder tread was a bit wider than on the
3's and the edges were the same compound on either. No problems in the rain with the 2's though the 3's do have more water channels.
My thoughts on the center tread on the rear was that 2 up or loaded I'd get longer wear in the centers and when I'm on the edges well
it's the same tire and the 2's set was probably $100 less than the 3's.
