I had not been riding a while, been a few weeks. Started it up, rode a mile for gas then back.
Definitely fuel overheating and overflowing. I assume you had been riding the bike for a while. Full tank over a hot engine will do it all the time, especially if you fill to the top. I have seen gas literally pour out the overflow. Scared the hell out of me first time it happened.
