I've been running a Garmin Nuvi 780 on a modified Streetpilot III mount for years. No issues.
I used the mounting plate for the Streetpilot that bolts to the inner handlebar bolts and drilled it for a RAM mount/holder for the 780. Nice and solid and on the edge of the line of sight so not to be a distraction, yet close enough to make looking at it quick and easy.
I use a bluetooth transmitter to send the audio to my BlueAnt intercomm.
