My FE melted the headlight socket, when I went to replace it I found a ceramic one. The wires may melt but not the socket. On Fri, Jul 27, 2012 at 9:51 AM, Walt <d888spoltd@aol.com> wrote:
My '95 SP connector to the headlight had this same thing happen. But it was while riding home night across the Arizona desert! Melted the damned thing good.
Same thing on my '93 SS. Luckily I was parked near a bar and outside my bank, so I had more options than Walt. :-)
Another strange electrical bug with this bike was the horn fuse would blow on ever other ride or so. Its a 7 amp fuse and not real common.
I realized when I looked at the schematic that it caused me to loose my brake light also. Well finally I traced it to the micro switch on the front
brake assembly. It would only happen so often and was tricky to find but luck and 35 years as an industrial electrician helped. I bought a pack
of 24 on Ebay for 5$ so I have a few spares.
