Re: [DucatiST] Oil drain plug

I'm on the drilling rig so can't go out to the garage and check the wrench I have for the plug. I have a set of tools in one drawer that are for my routine maintenance functions so haven't had to look for a particular sized wrench in many a year. I do know mine is sloppy too but wouldn't quite take the next size or English size either.

Take a ball pein hammer and a short fat drift and wrap the plug a few times and that may help loosen it up. Also use an appropriate sized allen socket to loosen the plug since you can put more pressure on the tool as opposed to an ell shaped allen wrench. Or use a short piece of pipe over the long arm of the wrench as a cheater.

Just a quickie - I thought the Allen key to undo the oil drain plug was a 10mm but when I try it the fit seems very sloppy, is it larger? The plug seems very tight and obviously I don't want to do any damage by heaving on it if it's not the right size.
Thanks,
Allen
