Definitely precious, but you pay for quality. Look at the prices for the stock parts from Ducati Omaha; $1215. Considering that stuff is made from cast Pla-Doh, the Wagner-Lewis clutch looks not so bad.

Agreed Paul, stock clutch bits aren't the best available and cost too much. But, for stock prices you could get an STM 48 tooth slipper clutch complete. Damned fine quality for half the Wagner-Lewis. Or go a combination of Nichols and Barnett bits (route I took last clutch I replaced) and save even more for substantial quality.
Point is, what exactly "extra" beyond great quality (which can be got for significantly less) are you getting?
I have never shied away from paying decent costs for good quality items and services, labor etc. But this is a tad spendy for little return.
