Boy, this one sure brought y'all out of the wood work. Get well soon Jack.
Since we're on the Multi. I still haven't gotten one yet but my one test ride of an hour thoroughly convinced me I must get one.The wind screen sucked and the bike is high for a fellow with a 31" inseam but she sure handle nice at slow speeds and on the
fly, well she could fly. As I said before, I've not been that impressed with any motorcycle since my first. My ST4 is great butshe has always been a bit hard to maneuver at slow speeds and must be worked in the twisties. I just now seem to really relaxon the ST4 and that after putting close to 30,000 miles on her myself. The Multi, once I successfully rode out of the parking lot, in otherwords, got my feet up on the pegs, well I was amazed at the handling. I rode her in tour mode which is 150 hp with softer suspension andthrottle response.
Same day I rode a GS, no dice...
Couple of weeks ago I rode a BMW K1300s...buzzy, handles like the ST, lacks the spirit of a ducati....
So, I've got the old 750 GT for sale and will get a Multi with the funds. I'll hang on to my ST4 cause I want to see howmany miles I can put on her before a rebuild. Right now were over 58,000.
Having typed all the above, there is this one ST4s out in Washington I have been smitten by. It's for sale and it's been built a bit....;)

I'm guessing you test rode the MTS 1200 in SPORT mode! :-)
In my opinion, Sport mode on the MTS 1200 is too much for the street. The throttle response is lightening fast and unleashes the full 150 HP experience a little too aggressively to be comfortable in the tight corners!
Thankfully, there are 3 engine maps to play with on the MTS 1200; 100HP, 150HP Low and 150HP High. Sport Mode is mapped to 150HP High by default. I changed my Sport Mode to 150HP Low. You still have the full 150HP to play with, but the throttle response is more progressive and MUCH easier to live with on the street. I'm reserving 150HP High for if and when I take the MTS 1200 to a track! :-)
Here lies the true beauty of the MTS 1200. You can change so much of the setup and riding characteristics with the press of a few buttons! If you don't like the stock settings, spend a little time playing with the settings and you'll find a set that works for you! Changing riding modes to suit the conditions AS you ride never gets old.
