Thanks Will I am in sunny NJ, USA. I hadn't really thought the RH/LH turning vs RH side of the road driving implications. Thanks for that. Mebbe I should put some cones down in a parking lot and do same corner from opposite directions and see what my butt-o-meter tells me then. I originally thought the wear was due to road crown but it seemed too much for that. Didn't want to put new tire on before I get a handle on wear.
Also now that I think of it front rim has a doink that may be worse on one side or the other. I certainly felt it on exit ramp today, but of course I was turning right. New Bucci (?) wheel new tire mount on standby until I solve ABS ring mount problem on Galfer rotors. Fun, fun, fun.
As far as riding it overseas I think you'd read about my progress in the obits. I sit up front in London cabs for the amusement-park type thrills!
Best regards
Reed
Where do you live Reed? Common in the US to wear the left side of the front more b/c we tend to push harder/go faster into left hand turns. Why? We can see through the left hand turn better because we drive on the right hand side. Conversely, right hand turns are usually tighter and have less visibility so we take them slower. The opposite would be true if you lived in the UK or Down Under.
Umm guys I have to ask a pretty basic question. My understanding was that 2007 ST3 ABS came with Ohlins suspension. My rear shock certainly displays the Ohlins colors but on the forks the only thing gold is the male section of the USD fork. The guy I use for my BMW scratched his head and said "Zat does not look like Ohlins to me". Is there a way I can tell if my fork is original?
The bike is wearing the front tire a little weirdly (much more just left of center) and feels different on right and left turns - I have seen some fairing brackets slightly bent. How rough a life did this thing have in the 2700 miles before I bough it?
Feeling paranoid
