I guess we're all different, Jan. I try to forget that I ever had a smartphone while riding. I don't want to know that I'm getting calls or messages until I stop and get off the bike. No bluetooth for phone or a music source. There's also a small comfort in having redundant devices. My phone does have a GPS app, if needed.
When someone makes a smartphone/GPS app that will let me load a custom route, I may reconsider. Much of my backroads riding is to a GPS route that was created on a computer and loaded into the GPS.
