Re: [DucatiST] Re: GPS - TomTom Rider 2

There is a free programme called Tyre that can be downloaded from: http://www.tyretotravel.com/
This uses Google maps and allows you to create routes as you do using Garmin's Mapsource or Basecamp.
Tyre will create routes for Tomtom and Garmin.

Can you upload a route to the TomTom?  That ability is the only reason I've bought Garmin since 1994 or so.  Absolutely required for me.

I've been using a TomTom Rider 2 for a few years. Works well in bright light, touch screen works nicely with gloves, bluetooth to headset works nicely - just a nice unit. Pairs well with my Nokia. I've been meaning to buy the car mount kit but just never got around to it. I've made a custom Ram ball mount out of stainless sheet for the cover plate on the front of the tank so the unit is out of the way of the handlebars. I've used it in torrential rain and it's remained waterproof.

Cheers
