My 550 works pretty well, but screen's a lot smaller than 660. Also the cradle is reputedly a bit delicate. But service is good - my original just packed up, well out of warranty, and they did me a service exchange for about UK£100. And the lifetime maps are good, though I don't know if that's tied to a single unit (so if you go for a 660 in few years time, will you still get the free updates?). Also, you need an SD card to hold all the latest Yoorpean maps as the built in memory's not enough, not sure if that's the case with US maps.

The Zumo 450 that I was using did not overcome direct sunlight entirely. The Zumo 660 that I now use for motorcycles is pretty good. I haven't had a problem seeing the map in any situation.

I too have been using low cost/eBay units but have found the screen brightness in full sunlight to be a real problem - can't see the screen directions! Do the "motorcycle grade" Zumo series units really overcome this problem? Any insight would be appreciated as i'm getting ready to pull the trigger.Thx
