Re: [DucatiST] Power programmer

Hey
thanks for the reply,
I have a ducati performance exhaust and chip in the bike now.
I want to change exhaust to a short set of GPR'S that look allot less restrictive.
Just don't want to lean out the bike or have issues. Ill try what you've proposed?
Thanks again.

Hey Tony,

So what are you trying to accomplish?
Airbox or exhaust mods, or both?

I haven't worked on an ST2 in a while and can't remember if the TPS (throttle position sensor) is adjustable.
IIRC, the power programmer just dumps in a little more fuel, mostly on the bottom end, to compensate for leaner running.  Or does that model also adjust the ignition timing?

If your TPS is adjstable just dial in a few more millivolts, (backprobe the connector with a volt meter set to MV).
Remember to record the starting voltage so you can always set it back to that value.

Or, you can turn in your throttle body bypass screws all the way in and re-synchronize the TB's, which will advance the butterflys (and the tps voltage) and fool the ECU in adding more fuel.
Of course this will add fuel across the range and will cut into your fuel mileage slightly, but it is usually hardly noticeable.

Cheap, easy, and reversible.

Keep us posted, and good wrenching.
