I just had an interesting conversation with my mechanic. I told him I wanted to replace the hoses while he was relacing the fork seals which are leaking a bit. He said he would be glad to take them off for me but didn't recommend it.
He said he has bikes come in all the time that are 25 years old with original hoses. Ditto for fuel lines.
I've been taking bikes to him for 14 years now & trust him so until the hoses start showing surface cracks, I'm holding off.
The belts are another story.
