I'm what I would call a casual bicyclist. I have a Specialized mountain bike that I purchased in 1994 that still meets my needs, so I've never bothered looking for one with suspension and special frame and all that. By "casual", I mean I don't have any special bicycle clothing and I don't participate in bicycle events. I just ride and enjoy it.
With the recent weather, I've been riding every day, doing maybe six miles a day. Folsom is a "bicycle friendly" town with marked bike paths on pretty much every major road and separate bike paths through the middle. You can go for miles inside the city limit without ever touching a road that a car is on.
I get better exercise riding a bike than a motorcycle. I ride a motorcycle every day too, unless it's raining hard enough to need an umbrella.
