Hi Filip,

It's hard to visualize how this could happen, if only because the amount of loading to that plate is pretty small and it should just sit snug in the basket. Was this plate an alloy one, rather than steel as I reckoned was necessary in this position? It needs to be stiff and wear-resistant to support the thrust, which is probably why your compatriots version consisted of a special steel plate sat right down in the basket base.

It would be worth checking how much float there is on the central hub, as the face shim behind the big nut can wear into the alloy hub. Since the hub sits on rubber cush vanes, they can disguise how much play there is. If the hub on yours is loose, it could have influenced the clearances. It's worth saying that we've collectively put many miles on this mod and this is the first time I've seen any problems with it.
