Re: [DucatiST] Hobatz healing - progress report? Recommendation for Jack.

Hey Jack I know where you're coming from. I suffered from 3 prolapsed disc's (work accident) for 18 years, all in the lower spine, mega pain and opium based pain killers,.... until 'The Man', neurosurgeon, suggested a disc replacement for the worst one. And it is made of titanium (so as to not add weight to the bike,... joking), ball and socket joint, $25,000AUD and 5 days in the clinic, and some time to get moving again, and I'm now as fit  as any 56 year old would be, and dumb enough to ride like someone years younger. Worth talking to your Dr. about the procedure to see if it may be appropriate for you. Good luck with it, as it works.
Also, hang in there Hobatz, you are more than 1/2 way to a full recovery, in the fact that the "work" has been done.

Brother...............I'm in effing tears with laughter. I'm happy that I wasn't drinking or eating when I read this. When I blew out the disc last year and the material was impinging on the nerve root going down my right leg, I joined the brain dead club. Can't sit, lay down, stand or walk.....so just pick your poison and pop some more deadeners. I empathize with you Gary on the pain front. The bitch is that fact that the surgery corrected the  nerve issue, but the lower back problems with deteriorated discs and arthritic vertebrae are still there and moving around in the morning looks like a comedy of a 100 year old guy.

The funny part is the looks I get when I try to get on my ST4. Once I'm on her, we are as one and I could put a knee down on track as easily as anything I can do. Oh btw, I seriously tore the hamstring in my left leg two weeks ago picking up my bike after stalling it doing a tight turn. Can't remember the last time I did that. Anyway, in a effort to use good body mechanics and not further injure my back, I used my legs. Apparently I must have favored the left and when I'm halfway up it felt like someone stabbed me in the thigh. Jenn says to me a few days ago: "Have you seen the back of your leg?" It seems that it has turned the most interesting shades of yellow and purple. You gotta be tough if you're old and stupid.

not certain if this is a progress report, but it's the best I could
