Re: [DucatiST] Re: Clutch Pushrod Needle Bearing.

Matt,

It can be very frustrating to get the bearing cage out of the end of the layshaft.  I recommend Dremel.  That has been my least frustrating method.  Just cut one side and collapse the cage.

Thanks Randy,

I must of typed something in wrong before as it told me part not available with my number. Yours worked fine, ordered 2 of each while I was paying shipping.

Matt,
I used Omaha Ducati site with the numbers you gave below.  They automatically shifted to the new part numbers I show.  Then for the fun of it I checked my '04ST4s numbers for those parts and they were the same.  They only go back to 2000 but the 2000 ST2 shows the same part numbers you gave below; hence, crossing to the numbers I gave.  I think you are good to go number wise.

   Hi Randy,

Yes, that thread shows the bearing in question. Can I ask where you got those part numbers? Just want to make sure they are for a 98 ST2.

My mistake.  You are talking about this seal and needle bearing right?

    Hi Randy,

The bearing I am talking about is the little needle bearing that is in the shaft that the pushrod goes through. LT's book shows him greasing it in a picture in the clutch maintenance section. I'm going from memory but I think it's picture 32

I believe this is what I used from Ca-cycle works....

Your talking about the bearing that presses into the back of the pressure plate right?

Thanks Randy,

Yes, I's definitely prefer to replace it.

Does anyone have the PN or if there is a standard equivalent? I've looked through online parts fiche and I'm unsure what bearing it is. Most of them end at 2000 so maybe the design changed? The closest I c an tell is the bearing is number 76270.0827 and the seal is 93783.0812 on the Gearbox page. Do these sound correct.
