[DucatiST] Re: New 1998 ST2 owner

 

This is pretty common. There are two coolant temperature sensors on the bike - one that provides an input to the ECU for engine management, and another that drives the temperature gauge (and nothing else). Your gauge sensor is starting to fail. It's a pretty easy replacement, but I can't find the part number right now. I'm sure someone else will chime in shortly.
