I have several USB drives and have gone through the process of naming each one of them. So the one that I'm likely to plug in as a backup gets the same drive letter as the one I use to run (F drive). Makes it easy that way as long as your hard drives are all mapped to the same drive letter.

I keep my files on a portable hard drive. When I have several usb items plugged it it changes the designation of my hard drive. Make sure when you save the file that it is the drive you want (c, d, e etc). If this happens you have to go back and edit the link file to the correct drive. I hope this makes sense.

Are you moving any file to different folders? I learned this the hard way.
