As an electrical engineer/mechanic I would test the switch with a
multimeter in voltmeter mode. Use the positive lead of the voltmeter to
probe the wires into the switch with the negative lead connected to a
convenient ground. Turn on the key and see if there is any voltage on
either wire with the switch off. If you find voltage on one wire and not
the other then that wire is the input. Turn the switch on and check for
voltage on both wires to the switch. If there is still no voltage on one
wire then the problem is the switch. If there is voltage on both wires
with the switch on then the problem is the relay. HTH.
