Another one slips away. Hopefully the retreating 365 treated you well,
and its offspring serves you even better.
Resolve to do something unusual this year. Never know how it will turn
out. If you're watching some pyrotechnics tonight, consider that some
accounts point to the origin of gunpowder as an alchemist's search to
build "The Philosopher's Stone," a substance that would turn rusty
metals into pure gold and also serve as an elixir of life, aimed at
promoting physical rejuvenation or possibility immortality. Fountain
of Youth sort of brew. That one kinda went amuck, but a nice try.
Take a risk this year. Stick your finger up "normalcy's" butt.
Remember to wash your hands after, then do something you were afraid
to do last year.
Perhaps piss in a birdbath. Your unique urine may persuade a bird to
not sit in that freezing water, possibly saving his little bird balls
from snapping off. Never know how it will turn out.
If no interesting resolutions scratch at your brain this year, just
resolve to realize some you made in past years. But this year hatch
them. Really.
