Definitely do it. Trailer your bike up if you don't want to ride. Look for the info from Vicki regarding Ducati Island, and get the weekend tickets. Seating in turn one with other Ducatisti, parking for your bike INSIDE the track, free lap of the raceway, etc. It's all good. Stay at one of the Ducati-sponsored hotels. There is also a huge bike night in Downtown Indy that brings out all the "Other" bikes - It is a big, busy, bike-filled weekend. Last couple of years they have also done a Ducati track day at Putnam Park on Monday after the race. I have done it twice and it is an awesome weekend.....
Yes, you do need transport to get around, and a bike is best....
