Re: [DucatiST] Horn upgrade

I can personally recommend the Stebel Nautilus air horn available from Twisted Throttle (among other places).

You will need to run dedicated wiring since the stock wires are not up to the job but there are turn key kits for this if you can't do it on your own. The stock wires will be used to trigger the horn via a relay supplied with the horn.

The horns are loud and will get the attention of inattentive cage operators under most conditions.

I've got four on various bikes that have performed well under all conditions. I know some have had issues with failure but I think that boils down to mounting, or lack there of, and keeping the horn from bouncing around.

The air compressor can be separated from the horn for limited mounted space and a hose used to connect the two. Performance is not altered with the separation.

Hope this helps!

Subject: [DucatiST] Horn upgrade

I seem to recall a series of posts regarding options for upgrading the horn on STs, I have an 02, and as the body work is off right now would like to replace the horn with one that could actually be heard by a driver.

I believe that several of you had identified several horns that would work without extensive modifications to the bike.

Anybody recall which ones are good?
thanks
