Re: [DucatiST] There's an echo in here......

I use the predecessor to this tool. http://tinyurl.com/48vaz8p

It is one of the most useful tools I own, so I have one at work and one at home. It is invaluable for replacing springs on stands and exhaust systems. Never had a problem using it for any spring on a motorcycle.

Good to hear you got the ride height straightened out.

Now, my question for you is: What are your feelings about the fairing conversion to the Dzus fasteners? Inquiring minds want to know.

Hey Jack...
Haven't done any riding since the weather has sucked so figured I'd dig into the ST. I'm on the rig right now but before coming out did a bit of work on the St4s...putting on Dzus fasteners with the DesmoTimes steel band, adjusted the ride height (thanx!), checked chain alignment, etc. Was waiting on my order for brake pads and belts to come in but got called out on the job so they should be waiting for me when I get back home.  Been without water here on the rig until last night so glad warm weather is back for a bit.

Oh, got the center stand springs in from Lee, the guy I bought the bike from...geez they're STRONG! Tried a doubled up parachute cord and a lever to try to strecth the springs and the cord broke. So I then pulled out my come-a-long and hooked it to the bottom frame rail of the Handy Lift and then to a "spring hook" and eventually got it stretched out and hooked onto the swing arm. Of course I had on a flak jacket, kevlar helmet and face shield while doing this! <LOL> It was straightening out the handle loop of the spring hook and the hook end was bent a bit. Be curious as to how the factory does it...and how many injuries they have from this operation! I sure won't be taking off the center stand any time soon!

Guess that's about it for now...Hopper
