Greetings Ducatista,
Has anyone tried to re-route the double fuel lines on the ST series? Or used quick connect couplers?
I got some 916/996 quick connect couplers that replace the banjo mounts from underneath the tank but they are the wrong diameter and thread size. Plus, I don't think there is enough room to clear the cylinder head if they could be installed. I'm trying to clean up the right side of the engine and would like to route the fuel lines from the left side if possible.
I like the fuel routing on the 999 series that uses thin, lightweight, almost heat shrink type tubing, with only one fuel line feeding the throttle bodies via a "T" fitting tapped into a fuel line "loop" from the fuel tank that comes over the top of the engine. Kinda hard to describe. Any thoughts?
However, I do not like the 999 throttle bodies, with shower injectors, inside the airbox, where the airbox top is next to impossible to remove (because the throttle cables go through the top of the airbox and it is secured with 10 screws) to sync the throttle bodies. I've been going in through the left air scoop airbox junction with tiny frickin wrenches (left handed, I'm right handed) to accomplish this task and it is a royal PITA.
Ciao, and thanks, Nick Alaniz, 2002 Ducati ST4$, Sacramento, CaL.
