I used a Honda R/R to replace the second Ducati unit on my '98 ST2 (the part number should be in the list archives - search Honda Regulator) mounted on a homemade aluminum heat sink/bracket that's in the open air under the lower triple. I also added this voltmeter just to the right of the gauges, which is worth it just for reassurance & keeping tabs on the charging system:
After about a year and a little fiddling, so far, so good. Knock on wood...

Hi All,
The ST2 was out front waiting to go with tent and sleeping bag for the Stafford Motorcycle Show. A knock at the door, the next door neighbour had reversed out of her drive and into my bike knocking it over. Long story short cosmetic damage, battery requiring replacing and a blown regulator/rectifier.
The question is, are there any othere R/R from other Ducati modles that are compatable with the ST2 (it's a "98"). I don't know if it's a 2 or 3 phase model (2 or 3 yellow wires) . I'm taking it apart on Friday so will know then. Also are there any after market R/R's avalible in the UK and has anyone fitted one, are they reliable?
