Re: Fw: [DucatiST] Re: DD Headlight question

AMEN! Your product shines Paul, like a beacon. Best damn safety product I have ever purchased. It sooo relaxes me when I ride at night. Oh, and it does look good!

I'm no engineer, but I worked in the electrical construction industry building power plants and water plants. Both have untold numbers of control circuits and all have minimum wire size requirements. It does not matter whether you are using 12v or 600, current is current and wire is grossly undersized in all motorcycle applications. If the correct wiring sizes were used, then many of the problems with bikes as they age would no longer exist. If wire sizes were adequate, then there would be no nbeed for wiring upgrades like the one Michael sells for Ducati, right Michael?

I have thought for several years now, that if only manufacturers would simply raise the operating voltages of motorcycles, that many problems would cease. The auto industry has  begun doing this in a few models from various companies. Mercedes comes to mind at the moment, but I can't recall who else, unless I do a bit of research and I'm too damn tired tonight to do this. Higher voltages require less current, right? They could keep the same wire sizes they have now and just raise the operating voltage to accomplish more work for the same amount of current.
