Yes, I agree. That's one reason it took me a while to get to this conclusion.
I have already replaced the fuel pump and tank lines (the expensive submersible kind). The condition existed before this and after.
That's what led me to test w/ and w/o the fuel cap in place. There was a definite improvment.
My thought was the rubber nipple between the tank and the cap was collapsing under vaccum, closing off the small vent hole in the cap.
I haven't checked this thoroughly because of my R/R failure.
I replaced R/R, yet again, but have only gone on short test rides.
Now, it's snowing....
