Re: [DucatiST] Re: ExactFit Timing belts

Thanks for the feedback.

I've been pretty confidant with.the mic/sampling method. Sometime there are "errant" readings but my experience has been that they are always harmonic events with a frequency of a multiple of the base frequency. This method just seems more objective overall, partucularly for somebody who does not have the "knack".associated with lots of experience of setting these things up.

I feel less worried when I hear that.the OE belts have the same tendency to loosen up.

I have an email in to CACycleworks - I'll let you know whatever feedback I hear from them but I think I'm happy with refitting.the belts to the lower frequency recommendations set by Ducati for used belts.

cheers

Ive had exactfit the belts on for two years now and they seem fine although I have only covered 6000kms. I have always used the 5mm method. tried the mic/Hz method and didn't like the inconsistency of my readings so ditched that method for what I knew worked.

FWIW After 5000kms on new OEM belts I couldn't believe how much they had loosened up. Sounds like a similar amount to what you have found with the exactfit.
