You know, I think that, as Americans, we just never have enough power. Most of the rest of the world rides much smaller-displacement motorcycles and they're doing fine. My old ST2 has done many miles 2-up and I've never thought I needed more power. Yes, I like it too, but the ST is a TOURING bike! I have my Monster 900, 944 FE and 748R in case I wanna blow the doors off other bikes and just don't need it on the ST. Certainly it's about what makes you comfortable, but unless you like to pass where there's really no room or do triple digits 2-up, what's the need?
