RE: [DucatiST] Re: Back in the ST fold

Most of the rest of the world rides much smaller-displacement motorcycles
and they're doing fine.  My old ST2 has done many miles 2-up and I've never
thought I needed more power.  Yes, I like it too, but the ST is a TOURING
bike!  I > have my Monster 900, 944 FE and 748R in case I wanna blow the
doors off other bikes and just don't need it on the ST.  Certainly it's
about what makes you comfortable, but unless you like to pass where there's
really no room or do triple digits 2-up, what's the need?

Having had ST2s and ST4Ss (and 900SSs, Multistrada 1000s and many other 2
valve Ducatis) an ST2 has plenty of go. Some prefer the less revvy nature of
an ST2 to the revvier ST4. I'd be more than happy to go round Europe on an
ST2. Then again I was happy going round India on an Enfield Bullet 350. :-)

You also have easier servicing and slightly fewer reliability issues with a
2v in my opinion.
