It will be best to remove hoses and drain water and keep it clean. The oil comes out when case is loosened. You could save it if necessary. 

there won't be much. The best way to stay clean is to put kitty liter on the ground because you will spill something.

Pullers can be borrowed from auto parts stores. Free.

Caution; rotor and stator must match for proper clearance. That's why Ducati sells them as a pair. I learned the hard way and delayed the project a week. I used the Ducati glue and two months later still stuck together and dry.
