Following up on this, today I stole the identical part from my Guzzi SPIII -
the button assembly - and fitted it to the Superlight. I have repaired the
broken one which I will refit to the Guzzi. To do this I opened up the slot
down the middle of the broken stub, dressed the end flat, and embedded an L
shaped piece of stainless wire in the groove. I doubled the end of this back
on itself and have made a knob from a 2 spot Lego brick. After all the
switchgear on early Guzzi twins was known as Lego switchgear so it seemed
appropriate. :-)
