Re: [DucatiST] Rear exhaust

For my "homemade" tools, I'll go to the local pawnshop and buy something that I can ruin on the cheap. If it is something that'll be used on a regular basis, I'll get a quality brand tool to modify.

Just did my 98'ST2 a few months back.... WOW, it sucks... Had to remove shock/linkage, foot pegs, and the crankcase breather setup. Exhaust fits very tight, and only goes in one way.

After everything was out of the way, sort of :) I had to grind/ cut down a small wrench I had to allow me to get it in there and get a good hold on that nut. Without that, I would have never got to it.

Don't be afraid to cut down/grind/bend wrenches, screw drives, drifts, hemostats, fingers; well, anything that you need smaller/skinner to fit. This is my secret as a shade tree mechanic... I have a bunch of tools laying around that I modified to make life easier!
