I can concur with Chris. I rented a bike from MotoTouring in Milan for a week and a few years back and it was not outrageous. They are also great in helping you plan a trip and/or making reservations.
FWIW, one of the guys in our club here in ATL kept a bike there for years. They will store it, charge it, pull it out and gas, set tires, etc and have it ready when you show up for a coupke of hundred dollars a year. He used to go over at least twice a year for a week or two....Seeet deal, if you have the time and money....
I used CIMT in Rome for a daily rental also, but they did not have such a big selection at the time. It was a Honda 650 Transalp, I believe, maybe $110 a day, but it was a few years back....
