Probably an amateur or district race. It was definitely not a Grand National Championship race. The bike would've never passed tech inspection...currently, only 2 cylinder bikes are allowed to compete.
Cool video, and gets people thinking about the possibilities. I would love to see a show down between the best GNC Expert riders one on an XR750 and another on a "Screamer" 4cyl. to see what would happen over 25 laps.

Subject: [DucatiST] Re: 4 cyl R-1 Sacramento Mile flat tracker
I was at the Sacramento Mile, and I don't remember any four cylinder bikes running during qualifying. I thought I watched all of the qualifying sessions, too. But the video is clearly taken at the Sacrament Mile, and all of the infield sure looks like what I remember during the event.
I do remember a few Ducati, Triumph, Suzuki, and Kawasaki bikes. That one red Ducati was a beautiful bike and sounded much better than the Triumphs and Kawasakis. But once they're all running in their powerbands, none of the bikes, including the Harleys, sound all that different from each other. At least for two cylinder bikes. The Ducati was basically stuck in the second pack, behind a bunch of Harleys.
